ROCKFORD, IOWA - Harm J. Eggena Jr., age 82, of 1455 190th St., Rockford, died on Sunday morning, August 31, 2008, at his home in Rockford.

Private graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with the Rev. Robert Orr officiating.

There will be a public visitation from 5 until 6 p.m. today, September 2, 2008, at the Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home 302 W. Main in Rockford.

Harm was a lifetime farmer in Rockford. He was the youngest child of Harm and Feukea (deWitt) Lichtsinn Eggena Sr. of a combined family of 4 + 4 +3 making it a family of 11 children. Harm was born on January 25, 1926, on a farm near Rockford, Iowa.

He leaves his wife, Darlene, of 61 years; and two daughters, Barbara Miller, of Naples, Florida; and Marylou and her husband, Gil Nelson, of Irvine, California; one son, Harm III and his wife, Ranada Eggena; of Rockford; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Maye Thompson, of Aurora, Colorado, and Helen Siefken, of Osage, Iowa.

His stillborn son, Donald; his daughter, Connie; his parents, two half-sisters, and six half-brothers preceded him in death.
