A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at the Christian Church, 102 N. Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with Pastor Glen Bandel officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Memorials may be directed to the Christian Church, Nora Springs in memory of Marjorie.

Marjorie was born April 5, 1916, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel Godfried and Lydia Marie (Kratz) Krueger. She attended school in Cresco and then worked at the Nora Springs Care Center in a variety of positions.

She married Willis Billings on January 8, 1935, in Mason City, and to the union 10 children were born, which she was very proud of.

Marjorie was a member of the Christian Church, and of the Royal Neighbors Club. She loved her family and attending family reunions. She also enjoyed flowers and going out to coffee at the Nora Inn; she loved the people there. In her spare time she would watch birds feeding outside her window, and when asked if she wanted to travel anywhere with anybody, she never said no. Marjorie liked to get her hair done at the Trade Winds Salon and was always known as a "lady."

She is survived by her children, Joan (Ben) Bennett of Pearson, Georgia, Janet Gordon of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Ronald (Dawn) Billings of Nora Springs, Danny (Jane) Billings of Mason City, Linda (Tom) Green of Britt, Larry (Cyndi) Billings of Eldridge, Barb Johanns and her fiance, Scott Hietland of Mason City, and Kim (Tami) Billings of Nora Springs; her son-in-law, John Eiland of Interlochen, Florida; and more than 90 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie lived a long and courageous life. She has now gone to her home and to reunite with her husband Willis; her parents, her sisters, Dorothy and Evelyn; her brothers, Clarence and Orville; her daughters, Judith Diane and Jean; and her son-in-law, Duane Gordon.
