Eugene David "Gene" Moen, age 71, of Nora Springs, Floyd County, Iowa, and formerly of Mitchell County, Iowa, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Sheckler Colonial Chapel in Nora Springs. Burial was at Rock Grove Cemetery in Nora Springs.

Gene was born June 21, 1936, at Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Mollie Moen. Gene graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1955.

Gene loved cars, especially his newly acquired 1950 Ford chopped top. He also had a wonderful sense of humor, and loved to make others laugh with his jokes.

Gene is survived by: one son, Scott (Staci), Moen, of Austin, Minnesota, three daughters, Kathy (Mike) Stowe of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Donna Moen, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Christy Moen of Pawnee, Kansas, four stepdaughters, Brenda Dilbeck, Kelly (Dean) Miller, Vickie (Bill) Norby and Michelle (Keith) Warner, one stepson, Rickie (Sandy) Bly fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren one brother, Ron (Bette) Moen, of Clarkston, Michigan and many other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger, his parents, Lloyd & Mollie, his wife, Norma, and one stepson, Joseph Bly.

Arrangments made by Sheckler Colonial Chapel.
