died: October 1949Charles City – Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Grossmanns funeral home, for William A Hamm, 60, who died unexpected at the Cedar Valley Hospital Thursday, where he had been a patient the last six days; military rites will be conducted at Riverside cemetery.
Born Oct 17, 1888, in Cook county, Nebraska, son of Riley and Sarah Hamm; was a veteran of World War 1, grew up on a farm in Chickasaw county and was a resident of Charles City the last eight years’ had been employed at the Oliver plant here.
Leaves wife, Florence, and two sons, William, Charles City, and David, San Sanahton, Cal; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Hamm, Charles City; five brothers, Milo, Cleston and Charles Hamm, all of Charles City; Arthur Hamm, Waterloo, and Jerry Hamm, Waukon; four sisters, Hazel and Josephine Godard, Bessie Spurbeck, all of Charles City, and Clara Baumgardner.
