Luther N. Burr -- 1819 to January 14, 1892

The many friends in this city Luther N. Burr will be surprised and grieved to hear of his sudden and altogether unexpected death, which occurred at his home, 1023 East Thirteenth Street, yesterday morning at 7:30, Mr. Burr had been confined to his bed for a couple of days with grippe but no one had any ides that death was near. The attending physician assigns heart failure as the cause of death.

The deceased was born Maine in 1819 and was therefore in his 73rd year. The past 25 years of his life have been spent in Davenport where he has made a host of warm friends. He was a member of the Edwards Congregation church and was a constant attendant on the services. He leaves a wife and one son, Porter Burr of Charles City, to mourn his sudden talking away.

The funeral announcement will be made after the arrival of his son.
