John Joseph Tibeau

John Joseph Tibeau, 76, of Charles City, died Wednesday, January 10, 1990, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn, of natural causes.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Petty officiating. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Hage Funeral Home where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion and V.F.W.

He was born on January 29, 1913, in Charles City to Phil and Julia (Daly) Tibeau. He graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Charles City and attended Columbia Chapel. He was a retired printer having worked for 40 years at various newspapers including the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Following retirement he and his wife returned to Charles City in 1975. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Immaculate Church the International Typographical Union, V.F.W. Post 3914 of Charles City, the Heritage Club, Senior Citizens, bowling with the Senior Citizens He was also an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife Marie and a sister, Florence (Mrs. Robert) Beer of Wenatche, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brother and one sister.
