Mrs. Otis J Fluent Dies

Mrs. Otis J. Fluent passed away this forenoon at the Cedar Valley hospital where she has been a patient for the past eight days. Mrs. Fluent had failed in health for the past year. She has been a resident of Charles City for about 28 years.

In recent years she has been living with her daughter, Miss Vera Fluent at 402 North Jackson street. Mr. Fluent preceded her in death in 1930.

Jessie Ann Waterbury was born Dec. 13, 1858, to Liberty Hall and Hannah Rankin Waterbury at Sauk City, Wisconsin.

On December 2, 1877, she was united in marriage to Otis J Fluent at Floyd, Iowa. To this union were born four daughters and two sons, they are Miss Vera Fluent and Miss Margaret Fluent, both of Charles City; Mrs. Ethel A King of Mason City; Edgar H. Fluent of Moline, Illinois and Dr. Stanley Fluent of Chicago. One daughter, Maude, passed away at the age of nine years.

There are four grandchildren and two great grand children surviving. Two brothers, Ed N. Waterbury and Hubert B. Waterbury, preceded their sister in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock
