NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - W. Keith (Ole) Stiles, 88, of 111 N. Sullivan Ave. in Nora Springs, died Sunday (Jan. 6, 2002) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Shell Rock Valley United Methodist Church in Nora Springs, with the Rev. Richard Pippert and the Rev. Terra Amundson officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City, with military honors by H.D.S. American Legion Post #449 of Nora Springs.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sheckler Colonial Chapel in Nora Springs, and then one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.

Family suggests memorials to W. Keith Stiles Memorial Fund.

Ole was born Sept. 10, 1913, on the family farm rural Rudd, the son of William S. and Ruth Anna (Wagner) Stiles. He graduated from Rudd High School in 1931. Following high school he worked for farmers in the area until going to work for the Rudd Co-op.

Ole married Earla Mae Fletcher on Mar. 15, 1942, in Rockford, On August of 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served in the 308th and 374th Bomb Group stationed in China and India during World War II.

Following the service he came back to Rudd and continued to work for the co-op and later as assistant manager until his retirement in 1978, working for a total of 37 years.

Ole married Marjorie Kuhlmeier on Aug. 18, 1984, at the Methodist Church in Nora Springs. They enjoyed spending their winters in Dade City, Fla.

He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf, bowling, gardening, helping his children do repairs on their homes and most of all, being with his family.

He was a member of Shell Rock Valley United Methodist Church, Nora Springs, and H.D.S. American Legion Post #449, Nora Springs.

Ole is survived by his wife, Marjorie Stiles, of Nora Springs; two daughters, Carol Albaugh, of Stratford, Conn., and Linda Buchanan and her husband, Duane, of Rudd; three stepdaughters, Colleen Shanks and her husband, Michael, of Nora Springs, Diane Conley and her husband, John, of Supply, N.C., and Connie Kelley and her husband, Jerry, of Nora Springs; four grandchildren, Keri Myers and her husband, Jeff, of Stratford, Conn., Barry Albaugh, of Bridgeport, Conn., Laurie Green and her husband, Robert, of Rudd, and Crystal Ehlers and her husband, Ed, of Floyd.; two great-grandchildren Jacob and Abby Green; seven step grandchildren and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Red) Stiles and his wife, Grace, of Rudd, and Leland (Jiggs) Stiles and his wife, Beverly, of Graettinger; and two sisters, Betty Laudner, of Santee, Calif., and Dorothy Newton and her husband Doyle, of East Moline, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Lorraine Sherrel Stiles; his first wife, Earla; two sisters, Arlee Miller and Lois Johannsen;and two brothers, Eldon and Boyd Stiles; and one son-in-law, David Albaugh.
