Private funeral services will be at Grossmann’s chapel at 4 p.m. Tuesday for Harvey H. Hoeft, about 48, of 1320 Missouri avenue, who took his own life in the alley back of the Doore Abstract Co., Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. by shooting himself in the left side with a shot gun; last fall Hoeft failed in another suicide attempt when he was found in the rear of the Hawkeye Vulcanizing Co., building in an alley, after slashing his wrists and legs with a razor blade.

He leaves his widow, Elsie, one brother, Henry Hoeft; and one sister, Mrs. Robert Kreger, all of Charles City.
