Charles City, Iowa – Funeral services were Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church at Nora Springs, for Ernest E. Sherman, 70, widely known landowner and operator of stock farms near Nora Springs, and father of Mrs. Ed Schroeder of this city, who died about noon Tuesday at this home in Nora Springs, following a stroke suffered Jan. 16; he had been confined to his bed since that time. Rev. C. Dana Boggie officiated and burial was made in the Rock Grove cemetery at Nora Springs.

Mr. Sherman moved with his parents to Nora Springs in 1895; they settled on a farm east of Nora Springs in 1898; after his parents returned to their old home at Olin, Ia., Mr. Sherman moved to Nora Springs and started his livestock business; married Franke M. Moon, Nov. 19, 1901; surviving are his wife; three children, Mrs. Td Schroeder, Charles City; Mrs. Don Adams, Mason City; Francis Sherman, Nora Springs; also two grandchildren.
