Mr and Mrs. Will Metz will observe their golden wedding anniversay Sunday at their home in Rockford, with open house scheduled from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. They were married Oct. 1, 1896, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. P. McCreedy. Mr. and Mrs. Metz have lived in or near Rockford all their lives. Mr. Metz farmed near Rockford until he retired and moved to town. They have 10 children who are expected to be present for the occasion: Mrs. Carl Baehne, Rudd; Mrs. Frank Ballagen, Beardsley, Minn; Mrs. Harold Carey, Los Angeles, Cal; Jay Metz, Greene; Mrs. Clarence Olson, Charles City; Mrs. Lester Reams, Rock Falls; Mrs. Floyd Meyers, Minneapolis, Minn.; Merle Metz, Orchard, and Mrs. Melvin Mann, Victorville, Cal. There are 34 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
