I am researching the Valentine Kappes family. Valentine was born in Germany then came to Freeport, Illinois where I come from. My great great grandmother may have been his sister and I am trying to verify that. Her name was Maria Barbara Kappes Goetz but went by Barbara Goetz after married. Will share what I have found thus far. I often visit Freeport area and willing to research more.
