According to Iowa Birth Registration for Clayton County, Iowa: Grace Sheppard was born July 23, 1899 in Wagner, Clayton, Iowa to Eli Sheppard and Sarah White Sheppard.

Here is a news item about Grace Sheppard Kamaus' death:

WEST UNION - Mrs. Henry Kamaus, 64, of rural West Union, died in the Charles City hospital Sunday of injuries received in a two-car collision Friday on Highway 346 six miles west of Williamstown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the St. Olaf Lutheran church here. Burial will be in the West Union cemetery. Mrs. Kamaus was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Henry, which was involved in a collision with a car driven by Earl L. Springer, of rural Nashua, the Highway Patrol reported. The patrol said Springer was attempting to turn into a farm drive when the mishap occurred. Mr. Kamaus, 88, is hospitalized at Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City with head injuries.

Mrs. Kamaus was born July 23, 1899 as Grace Sheppard. Survivors besides her husband include two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Nims, of Fayette, and Mrs. Carl Johansen, West Union, and three sons, Lloyd and Millard, both West Union, and Ervin, of Cedar Rapids.
