I am searching for information on my husband's ggGrandfather. His name was John Gaida/GUIDA. I have found him on the 1870 to 1900 censuses at Fremont township, Fayette County. He lived in section 2 and had more land in section 3.I have not found the land records. The name is spelled many ways- Gaid/Gaide/ Guida/ Gaida/Gaita. He was born in 1825 in Germany and lived until about 1898. I have not found his death certificate or obit. He came to Fayette about 1859.He was married to Barbara Maria Elizabeth Gehweier in about 1856 in Ill. Barbara died on 5 Aug 1907 in Fremont. I have her death certificate. She is supposed to be buried at Union Evan. Cemetery.I think they were Methodists. Does anyone know where I could locate the church records for 1859-1907??? Are there any land records available? Their children were John born 1857 in Ill; Jacob 1859-1875; Elizabeth 1860 to abt 1886, married Martin Krug; William born 1864 married Mary Anna Moser in 1885; Anna born 1866 married Frank Dallenbach and Susan born 1867 married George Gehweier. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am especially looking for John Gaida/Guida's death. thank you, Chris
