Formerly Resided Near Oelwein and Has Relatives Here

Marshalltown, Ia., August 12 - John S. Kunkle, a well known old soldier and member of the soldiers home from this city, died suddenly of heart failure yesterday afternoon. For many years Mr. Kunkle was janitor of the Christian Church of this city. He was 70 years old, and had been a member of the home two years. His wife died last June. A son is believed to be living at Oelwein and efforts are being made to locate him.

(Mr. Kunkle was at one time a resident of Fayette County near Oelwein, and was well known to many of the old settlers. A number of his relatives reside near this city.)
