Janice Yauslin

Funeral services for Janice Yauslin were held Friday, September 16, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont. The Reverend Dwight Albers officiated. Sarah Strong was the organist. The Casket Bearers were: Lyle Jackson, Dennis Rear, John Gass, Don Miller, Jerry Wilbur. Burial was in God’s Acres Cemetery at Clermont. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Janice Ilene (Larson) Yauslin was born January 1, 1940, at West Union, Iowa, to Otto Larson and Ruth (Peterson) Larson. She passed away at her home in Clermont, Iowa on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, at the age of 65 years, 8 months, and 12 days.

Janice was baptized on January 21, 1940 at West Clermont by Pastor Ramsey and confirmed there on June 9, 1954 by Pastor F. B. Knudsen. She attended the Riverside country school for several years and then attended the Clermont School.

On September 25, 1955 Janice was married to John Irwin Yauslin in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. To this union four children were born. She lived in the West Union and Clermont area.

She is survived by her husband, John, four children, Janann (Paul) Anderson, Broomfield, CO, Jeffrey (Dorothy) "Dorty" Yauslin, and Jamey (David) Sump, all of West Union, IA, and Jerry (Tami Knickerbocker) Yauslin, Pine Island, MN, 9 grandchildren, Melissa Anderson, Kristin Anderson, Kimberly Anderson, Jessica Yauslin, Stephanie (Gabe) Oldfather, Christopher McChane, Jeremy (Lanessa) Yauslin, Sara DeVolt, Carissa Yauslin, 3 great grandchildren, Chloe Yauslin, Kyra DeVolt, Olivia Oldfather, a brother, Laverne (Eula) Larson, Fayette, IA, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Joshua Yauslin, and a brother, Oliver.

Janice was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church. She was active in the Women of the ELCA and sang in the choir. Janice had an extensive collection of interesting and unique bells. She loved to bake, work crossword puzzles, and visit her grandchildren.
