Funeral services for Guy Brooks, 79, Volga, were held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, May 27th, in the Church of Christ, Arlington, with burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga, Pastor Scott Hall officiated at the service with Leonard-Witt Funeral Home, Elkader, in charge of the arrangements. He died Sunday, May 24, (1992) in the Elkader Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Guy Brooks, son of Frank and Eva Johnson Brooks, was born November 29, 1912. Guy became a baptized member of the Church of Christ at Arlington and was active in the work of the church. On September 21, 1935 he married Ruth Maser at the Methodist parsonage in West Union. To this union three children were born. Guy was a longtime farmer in the Arlington-Volga area and for a number of years lived in Volga.

He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Zelma, Jeanette and Doris and two brothers, Faye and Albert.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, Volga; his sons, Gerald, Volga and Gary, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Yvonne Morrison, Des Plaines, Illinois; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two brothers, Benjamin of Florida and Dorr of DeRidder, LA.
