Verle William Jenkins

A longtime Oelwein resident, Verle William Jenkins, 82, died Sunday at Grandview Care Center.

Funeral services have been set for Wednesday, September 11, (1985) at the Eastside Chuch of Christ with the Rev. Richard DeVore officiating. Burial will be at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jenkins, who was a switchman for the Chicago Great Western Railroad, had lived in Oelwein 72 years. He was born April 12, 1903.

Survivors include his wife, Zola; two sons; William Verle Jenkins, San Jose, California and Ralph L. Jenkins, North Chicago; three daughters; Mrs. Elmer (Irene) Woodward, Eldbridge, New York; Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Bunn, Maynard; and Mrs. Carolyn Nourse, Oelwein. Sixteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.
