Elder Harrison Butler Dead
He departed this life on Saturday night at about 11 o'clock. It is believed his death was the result of injuries received last February in the wreck on the B.C.R. & N. Railway.....
Mr. Butler has been a resident of this county for forty-one years, and died at his home in Westfield Towship on the farm he bought from the goverment in 1850. He was born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, October 26, 1815. At the age of twenty-four he chose as a life partner Miss Amanda Gist. His wife and six children survive, all of whom were present at the funeral. Mr. Butler has been prominently identified with the development and upbuilding of this county, and took a very active part in the building of the first school house ( a log structure) in his district. He was a consistent member of the old school. Baptist church and was a preacher in his church for over thirty years....Elder Blake, of Dunkinton, of the same denomination as Mr. Butler, officiated at the funeral.
