Man Rolled into a Fire,
Oelwein Record—A sad occurance happened in the wooded spot west of the city Tuesday night. Three men built a fire for the purpose of keeping themselves warm. One, Simon Suzila, by name, laid down alongside of it and was soon lost in slumber. He was awakened by his clothes being on fire. He got up and ran for the Anderson house in the neighborhood. It being 11 o’clock the occupants had retired and losing his mind momentarily, Suzila ran into the cellar. The noise awakened the family and they found the man in the cellar writhing in agony. The two men who were with him were there and assisted in doing what could be done for him. A physician was called and Suzila afterwards taken to the Patterson hospital where he died of his injuries Wednesday night.
The deceased has been a resident of Waukegan, Ill., for fifteen years. He had been to work with a steam shovel crew on the Central at Ackley.
