MAJOR GENERAL WOOD WRITES HARLOW EVERETT
The following letter from Leonard Wood, Major General, U.S.A., has been received by Harlow Everett of Albany, the death of whose son, Earl, occurred recently at Camp Funston, Kansas:Dear Sir:
I wish to express to you my sympathy in the loss of your son, Private Earl Everett, 17th Co. 164th Depot Brigade, who died of pneumonia on October 15th, while in training at this cantonment (Camp Funston.)Earl Everett's sacrifice was full and complete. He gave his life for his country and in so doing gave the most that one can give. He gave as those are giving, who are dying on the battle fields of Europe in the great cause of humanity, free institutions and that this country may live in security.
Very truly yours,
LEONARD WOOD
Major General, U.S.A., Commanding.
