WEST UNION MAN'S SERVICES WEDNESDAY

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran church, West Union, For Adrian Kleppe, 64, who died suddenly Sunday night. Rev. V.A. Baderschneider and Intern Wendy Waugh will officiate at the services with Burnham and Wood Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Interment will be in the West Union cemetery. Casketbearers are Edwin Mittelstadt, Stanley Tope, Larry Daniels, Dean Mueller, Kent Michel and Keith Marovets.

Adrian Telmer Kleppe, son of Alfred Lauire and Hilda Matilida (Torkelson) Kleppe was born May 31, 1916, in Dover Township of Fayette County, Iowa. He was baptized June 25, 1916, in Stavanger Lutheran church, rural Ossian. He was confirmed in Stravanger church on Sept. 28, 1930.

On May 11, 1941 he was married to Ione Iva Michel in the West Union Methodist Church. They became the parents of five children.

Mr. Kleppe served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945, during World War II. He was wounded while serving in Europe. A long-time resident of West Union, he was employed at Big Gain Feeds of West Union for 33 years, before retiring in 1978. He has been a member of Zion Lutheran church, West Union, since 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn son Adrian Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Ione, two sons, Alan Adrian Kleppe, Hawkeye, and Ronald Telmer Kleppe, West Union; two daughters, Arlys Ione Kleppe Walvatne, Tacoma, WA, and Alyce Iva Kleppe Lang, Indianapolis, IN, 10 grandchildren, four sister: Helen, Mrs. Ed Loftsgard, Vivian, Mrs. George Mueller, Mrs. Margaret Larson, and Evelyn, Mrs. Ben
Marovets, Monona; two brothers: Leslie Kleppe, Elgin and Arnold Kleppe, West Union, nieces, nephews and cousins.
