OBITUARIES.
EDNA FREDERICK SERVICE HELD TUESDAY

Funeral services for Edna Frederick, 90, West Union, were held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m. in Burnham-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. David Grant and Associate in Ministry Susan Friedrich officiating. Interment was in the West Union Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Michael Tope, Mark Tope, Marian Tope, Marty Tope, Ryne Tope, and Tim Tope.

Burnham-Wood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edna died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Center, West Union.

Edna Norena (Woodson) Frederick, daughter of James and Mary (Warthan) Woodson, was born Oct. 25, 1912, at Auburn and attended rural school.

On Feb. 2, 1932, Edna was united in marriage to George Tope at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in West Union. Two sons were born to this union. George died in 1942. Edna married Hans Frederick on Oct. 25, 1964, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Hans died in 1986.

Edna lived all her life in West Union and had worked as a housekeeper at Palmer Lutheran Hospital, West Union.

Edna's husbands; parents; three brothers, Clarence and Eugene Woodson and a brother in infancy, preceded her in death.

Edna's survivors are her two sons, Russell (Dolores) Tope of Marion and Kenneth (Ellen) Tope of Grinnell; seven grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; two stepchildren, Roger (Carolyn) Frederick of Marion and Marvel Alber of West Union; 10 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
