WILLIAM KENT SERVICES HELD OCT 12

Services were held at Bumham-Wood Funeral Home, West Union, for William Kenneth Kent Thursday, Oct. 12, with Rev. Hans Floan of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawkeye, officiating at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Waucoma Cemetery and casket bearers were Dennis Grandon, Dave Harbaugh, Michael Coon, Ronald Kent, Jack Powell and Brian Kent;

William Kenneth Kent, son of William and Catherine (Brinklow) Kent, was born Jan. 14, 1908, at Waucoma. He was baptized and confirmed in April 1927 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawkeye. He received his education at Waucoma High School.

Kenneth was married to Hazel Weidemann and to this union were born five children. He farmed most his life in the Alpha area and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hawkeye, and West Union Masonic Lodge.

His death occurred Oct 9 at Maple Crest Manor, Fayette, at the age of 81 years, eight months and 25 days. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, one great-grandchild, and one nephew.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kent, Hawkeye, and Harold Kent Railway, NJ.; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Jane) Buls, Waterloo; Janice Kent, North Liberty, and Mrs. Bud (Janet) Coon, Indianola; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Vick, Orange County, Calif.; Mrs. Florence Otters, Cyrus, Minn., and Mrs. Katheryn Wagner, Beecher, ILL.; nieces and nephews.
