OBITUARY

MARY ELLEN VAN NATTA

Mar Ellen Van Natta, 92, of Dunkerton, Iowa, died on Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein, Iowa.

Mary Ellen was born on January 8, 1921, in rural Dunkerton, Iowa, the daughter of Carlton George and Ethel (Simmerson) Atkins. She was united in marriage to Ronald Van Natta on August 25, 1945, in Barclay Township, southeast of Dunkerton, Iowa.

Mary Ellen enjoyed doing crafts which included crocheting and knitting many quilts over the years for her family. She was especially fond of her dogs.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Judy) Van Natta of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Toni Van Natta of Denver, Iowa; one sister, June Groth of Denver, Iowa; three grandchildren, Ron (Lisa) Van Natta of Raymond, Iowa; Robin Van Natta of Evansdale, Iowa and Sean (Lorna) Van Natta of Readlyn, Iowa; and six great grandchildren. A special thanks to her dear friends Dean and Karen French for their care of Mary Ellen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob on December 27, 1982 and her son, Jerry on March 25, 2009.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Readlyn. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Independence and online condolences may be left at www.kaisercorson.com
