Son of Mervin L. Anderson (deceased, 7 April 1965) and Lilliam J. (Wold/Anderson) Boldt. One of several children who were raised by their parents on a farm in the Clermont/Elgin/Gunder Iowa area.

Served in the Korean War (A/453 Eng Bn) and the Iowa National Guard.

Worked for many years as a farmhand for Weaver Witwer then later retired from St. Lukes Hospital Cedar Rapids Iowa and the Housekeeping Department. Was an active member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church and the Cedar Rapids Iowa VFW. He enjoyed fishing, farming, being with his children and grandchildren, and working with his hands.

Funeral Services were held on 6 June 2002, 1030hrs at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Atkins, Iowa. Casket Bearers were Danny Anderson, Greg Anderson, Bill Haerther, Scott Simmons, Mike Anderson, Edward Berg. Honorary Casket Bearers were COL Brad Anderson and Tyler Smith.

Buried with Graveside Military Rites at St. Stephens Cemetery Atkins Iowa by Hanford American Legion Post # 5, Cedar Rapids Iowa

He will always be remembered as a good, hard-working, and honest man who cared deeply for his children.
