Oelwein, Iowa - Vern H. Boyer, 91, of Oelwein, formerly of Brainard, Iowa, died Saturday night at Grandview Nursing Center, Oelwein.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, West Union, Iowa with burial in West Union Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at Muehlethar Funeral Home, Elgin, Iowa, and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service Tuesday at the funeral home.

His wife, the former Anna Miller, died Dec. 25, 1963, and one daughter Lola died Nov. 14, 1984.

Surviving are three daughters: Alice Boyer of Oelwein, Mrs. Don (Eva) Reeder of Elgin, and Mrs. Ralph (Ruth) Knoll of New Hampton, Iowa: one son, Leo, of Cresco, Iowa, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Mary Cherry of Springfield, Ill.
