Died, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Mary A. Arthur, West Union, Iowa, April 20, A.D., 1861, Allen Dunning, Esq., aged 82 years, seven months and twenty-three days.

Mr. D. was born at Pownal, Vt., Aug. 27th, 1778, and married at the age of 19 to Hannah Perkins, of the same place, who now at the age of 80 survives him.

He resided at Ticonderoga, N.Y., 36 years, and in Wayne conty, same State, 18 years, and for 5 or 6 years past in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa.

He was the father of 15 children, 13 of whom, six boys and seven girls, grew to manhood and womanhood and are now living.

He served his country in the war of 1812, at the battle of Plattsburgh, N.Y., was 12 years a Justice of the Peace, a good citizen, a generous friend and neighbor, a kind husband, and everywhere an example of industry, temperance and sobriety.

He lived a natural life and died, as fruit fully ripe falls to the ground, a natural death.
