Michael Klingfus, age 91, died at 5:30 a.m. today at the home of his son, Gustave Klingfus, 145 Lincoln Street, from ailments incident to old age.
He was born in Posen, Germany, Sept. 15, 1826. He came to America in 1890 with his family at the solicitation of a son, who had been in America four years and who lived on a farm near Fairbank. He lived at Fairbank until two years ago, when he moved to Waterloo to be with another son, at whose home he died.
He is survived by his widow, age 76, and five children: Mrs. Alvina Ott, Fairbank; August Klingfus, Austin, Minn.; Henry, Austin, Minn.; Reinhart and Gustave, both of Waterloo. All the children were born in Germany and in addition to these he leaves 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Hileman & Gindt Mortuary until noon Tuesday. Services will be held at the home, 145 Lincoln Street, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in charge of Rev. H. Preckel of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The body will be taken to Fairbank for burial. A short service will be conducted there.
