OBITUARY OF EVA MEDBERRY.

Eva was born August 4, 1909 near West Union, Iowa to Walter and Len (Appleman) Ash. She was raised and educated in the area attending rural Fayette County schools.

On February 19, 1930 she was united in marriage to John Alton Medberry at Delhi, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. They farm more of their married life together, retiring into Elgin in 1976. Alton died on October 10, 1983.

Eva was always active in the Illyria Community Church, and served as secretary for the Illyria Cemetery Association for many years. For the past five years she has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in West Union, Iowa where she died on Saturday morning November 5, 1988 at the age of seventy nine.

She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Roger (Lois) Amundson of Clermont; and Mrs. Randolph (Donna) Murphy of Harrisburg, Virginia, two sons: Lyle and his wife Florence of Springfield, Illinois, and Charles and his wife Sandra of Casper, Wyoming, fourteen grandchildren and a step grandchild, ten great grandchildren, and a step great grandchild, two brothers; Alfred Ash of LeGrand, Iowa and Walter Ash Jr. of Charles City, and two sisters; Mrs. Dorothy Medberry of Elgin and Mrs. Lloyd (Marjorie) Holltzman of Fayette, Iowa.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Ash; a sister, Leta Barrett and her parents.

Casket bearers were Dan Medberry, Russel Medberry, John Grimm, John Amundson, Lane Ash, Allen Holtzman.

Arrangements were made by Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin, Iowa.
