Don Pleggenkuhle

Don Pleggenkuhle, 61 of Waucoma, died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo following a sudden illness.

Private memorial services were held Wednesday, May 2 at 3 p.m. at the Waucoma Funeral Chapel with visitation following until 8 p.m. Internment will be at the Alpha Cemetery at a later date.

Don Pleggenkuhle was born Dec. 7, 1939 in Sumner, the son of Elmer and Alice (Weitenhagen) Pleggenkuhle.

He married Sharon Ott on Dec. 10, 1960 at the Alpha Methodist Church.

Don had owned and operated the Alpha Feed Mill, worked for Henderson Manufacturing of Manchester as a salesman and was self-employed as a carpenter and sold advertising specialties.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Pleggenkuhle; one daughter, Roxanne (John) Sloan of Pella; 3 sons, Bruce (Beth) Pleggenkuhle of Dallas, Texas; Brad (Theresa) Pleggenkuhle of Denver and Britt of Alpha; his mother, Alice Pleggenkuhle Rose of Pinnellas Park, Fla.; one brother, Gary (Connie) Pleggenkuhle of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one sister, Luanne Williams of Islamorda, Fla., and 9 grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Pleggenkuhle and his grandparents.
