Elgin Echo, Thursday, 22 Oct. 1896.

A daughter of Chris Luertchert died Sunday evening of consumption. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the German Baptist church, Rev. Hack officiating. We have been unable to obtain data for an obituary, but can say that deceased was a young lady of estimable character and one who held the love and respect of all who knew her. The sympathy of the community is with the bereaved friends and relatives.
