Elgin Echo, Thursday, 27 August 1896. From the Lamont Leader.

Mr. Brad Talcott, who formerly was a resident of this place, passed away very quietly at his home in Wadena, Saturday afternoon. He was an old soldier and highly respected by all who knew him. His funeral took place Monday afternoon. His remains were taken to Highland where his daughter lies buried. His many friends and relatives mourn the loss of a true friend, a kind brother and a loving father. – Lamont Leader.
