Elgin Echo, Thursday, 14 May 1896.

April 30, at his home in Fayette, occurred the death of Henry Klock. Funeral services were held May 2 conducted by Rev. Snoden and internment made in the Fayette Cemetery.

Henry Klock was 62 years of age at the time of his death. He was born in New York State, April 13, 1834, and there grew to manhood learning the art of the wool weaver. He was married in 1858 to Rosana Burrough, who died November 19, 1895 at Fayette. Mr. and Mrs. Klock came to Iowa in 1863 and settled at Waverly where they engaged in the woolen mills business. In 1870 they moved to Elgin building a mill here and following the same business as at Waverly. In 1887 they again moved, that time going to Fayette where both have since died.

Five children are left to mourn the death of their father; Mrs. Mary Wholether, of Zeering Iowa, Mrs. Arlie Bray, Madison, Wisconsin, George Klock, Nellie Klock, and Celia Klock of Fayette.

Henry Klock was well known throughout northeastern Iowa as a man of strict honesty, a good and accommodating neighbor and a steadfast friend. He was a good and kind husband and father.

Mr. Klock seemed almost a resident of Elgin from the fact that he had lived here and run his woolen mills here from 1870 to some time in 1887, about 17 years, and made monthly visits to the town since moving away. He knew every man, woman and child here and was known by them.
