Elgin Echo, Thursday, 31 December 1903.

Jane G. Pringle was born in Milford, Connecticut, October 24, 1834, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis DeSart, December 23, 1903, after an illness of several months duration. Had she lived another day, she would have been 69 years and two months old. She was the mother of seven children, two dying in infancy. The surviving children are Mrs. Charles Rubert, Forestburg, South Dakota; Edward B., San Francisco, California; Clayton, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Frank, Clermont, Iowa; and Mrs. Francis DeSart, with whom she has lived the past year. She also has a brother living in Columbus, Ohio, and a sister in Chillicothe, Missouri. All mourn the loss of a loving mother and sister.

She was a true Christian woman, having been converted early in life and united with the M. E. Church, remaining true to her faith until the end. She was of a cheerful and contented disposition and always anxious about the welfare of others. She was kind and considerate, and her one great desire was to relieve others of care and responsibility.

The funeral services were held at the, M. E. Church, Saturday forenoon, December 26, at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Temple, pastor of the M. E. Church. Interment was made in the Elgin Cemetery. Besides the immediate family, many friends will grieve the loss of a truly good woman.
