Last Rites held for long-time Waucoman
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. for Leta Belding, 82, who died Dec. 13. Rev. Richard Menzel officiated at the 11 a.m. services. Interment was in the Waucoma cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack McKay, Jack Adams, William Bock, Bernard Deeny, Ralph Adams and William McKay.
Leta Viola Belding, daughter of Clifford and Olive Truesdell Rawson was born in Iowa on Aug. 10, 1898. She lived in various Iowa communities during her earlier years. She graduated from a business school in Marshalltown and moved to Waucoma where she lived most of her life. She worked in Waucoma at the Webster Lumber Yard prior to her marriage. She was united in marriage to P.H. Belding in November 1919.
She was a member of Bethel United Presbyterian church in West Union. She had been active in Eastern Star and in community affairs during her long residence in Waucoma. She was Assistant Editor of the Dental Journal. She died Dec. 13.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dr. P.H. Belding, two sons Dr. James Belding and LaVerne Belding and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters DoraLee Mrs. Donald Kizer of Ardmore, OK and Catharine Mrs. Carlysle Udehn, Moline, IL, two sisters Mrs. Nadine Curtis, Euclid, OH and Mrs. Leola Erickson, Oelwein, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
