Elgin Echo, Thursday, 10 Sept. 1903.
Mrs. Lucy Bakeman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. (E. or F.) W. Nichols, at Maynard, where she had gone to visit, last Thursday morning, Sept. 3.
Her death was due to heart trouble to which she had been subject for a long time and her age was over 70 years.
She always made her home in Elgin with her son, N. H., and family, and was loved by all who knew her for she was a dear kind soul who delighted in doing good.
Six children are left to emulate her good deeds: Mrs. Nichols, of Maynard; Mrs. C. W. Young, of Hardy, Neb.; N. H., of Elgin; G. R., of Randalia; Chas. B., of Marble Rock; and Frank, of Maluga, Calif.
Burial services were held Saturday and interment was made at Dunham.
