Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 13, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. at the East Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, for Norman H. Amundson who died at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Saturday, December 10. The Rev. Clarence Johnson, officiated.

Born February 26, 1919, in Clayton county, Iowa, Norman was the son of Martin and Mabel Helgerson Amundson. He was baptized and confirmed at the East Clermont Lutheran Church.

June 21, 1941, he was united in Marriage to Loretta Belschner at the West Clermont Lutheran Church.

He taught school for a year at the Larabee School in Grand Meadow township, district No. 4. In 1942 he enlisted in the army, serving in the European Theater as a 1st Lieutenant with the 444th Coast Artillery.

Returning from the war, he attended and graduated from Iowa State University, Ames. In 1950 the couple moved to the farm where their son Mark now lives.

Mr. Amundson served as a farm appraiser for the John Hancock Insurance Co.; a 4-H leader; on the Clayton County Conservation Board; FHA Board of Clayton and Fayette counties; Director of Farmers Savings Bank; AMPI and Tri-State delegate and was a member of the Sheehan-Olson American Legion Post #375.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark, Postville; two daughters: Mrs. Gary (Patricia) Pampuch, Whitehall, Wisconsin; Mrs. Phil (Julee) Metzger, Elgin; four grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Amundson, Clermont; four brothers: Joe, Wayne and Roger, Clermont and Victor, Iowa Falls, also a sister Mrs. Arlene Bockoven, West Union.

Interment was in the East Clermont Cemetery.
