J. A. Brewer, a prominent citizen of Fayette, was found dead in the Volga River a week ago Saturday. At first it was thought that he had fallen into the river and met death accidentally, but later a letter was found in his coat pocket which showed that the deed was premeditated. The letter stated that he had contemplated suicide for quite a time, told where he could be found and that he did not wish to be a burden to his family any longer. Mr. Brewer was 66 years old and is survived by his widow and five children, three sons and two daughters. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.
