Elgin Echo, Thur., 28 June 1917.

Louisa Hitch was born in Fayette county, Iowa, October 30, 1850. She lived here until 17 years of age when she moved with her parents to Chickasaw county, Iowa. There she was married on December 25, 1869, to W. H. Fink, to whom she has been a loving and faithful wife during all these years. Not long after their marriage they went to live in Elgin, Iowa, and later moved to Rock Rapids, leaving there to spend a year at Sioux Falls, North Dakota. In March of 1888 they came to Springfield, Missouri, which has been their home ever since.

In the early part of her life in this city she united with the First Congregational church of which she has been a consistent member. She became a member of the W.C.T.U. and devoted a large share of her time and energy to the temperance cause. Everything which made for individual and social betterment found her a loyal supporter and friend to the limit of her power.

She leaves behind 4 brothers and 2 sisters: John of Port Angeles, Wash.; O. P. and S. L. of New Hampton, Iowa; W. B. of West Union, Iowa; Mrs. M. J. Monahan of Elgin, Iowa; and Sophia Morton of New Hampton, Iowa,, besides her husband, W. H. Fink of this city, and she leaves an adopted daughter, Mrs. R. C. Alder of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to whom she proved a loving mother for many years.

Mrs. Fink passed away in the hospital in Springfield, Missouri, June 17, and the funeral was held from her home in that city.
