Elgin Echo, Thur., 12 October 1899.

On Tuesday Oct. 10th, occurred the death of the baby girl of Mr. and Mrs. Thorlow Doan. Funeral services were held Wednesday Oct. 11th. The little one was about six months old and was a bright child. It blossomed with the roses and with their withered leaves it was laid aside, leaving a memory of sweetness and innocence untarnished by age and its scars. - "Yet Ah, that spring should vanish with the rose ! That Babe's sweet scented manuscript should close ! The Nightingale that in the branches sang, An whence, and whither down again, who knows !"
