Elgin Echo, Thur., 19 January 1899.

On last Thursday, Jan. 12, occurred the death of Mrs. Wm. Watenpaugh at her home in Elgin. Funeral services were held at the U.B. church, conducted by Rev. Perry, of Clermont, and interment was made in the Elgin cemetery.

Mrs. Watenpaugh was an old and honored citizen of Elgin, loved and respected by a large circle of friends. She was a kind and loving mother and wife. As a neighbor and associate she was good and generous. In her death the community has lost one of its best members.

A husband and several children remain to mourn her death. They have the sympathy of all acquaintances.
