Elgin Echo, Thur., 2 March 1899.

Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 1899, occurred the death of Frank Thoma at the family home in Elgin, of pneumonia. Funeral services are held today, March 2nd, at the German Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Hack, and interment made in Elgin cemetery.

The death of Frank Thoma was quite sudden for his fatal sickness was of but four days duration. Frank was a man who was kind hearted and generous and had many friends in Elgin who will miss his familiar and pleasant face and cheery good morning. He leaves a father and several brothers and sisters to mourn his death.
