Etta Ruby Hummel was born in Clinton County, Iowa, February 9, 1879. Her parents moved with her to a farm near Maynard in the same year. When about seventeen years old she was baptized in the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was united in marriage to Henry Robinson, April 6, 1898. After remaining two years in Fayette she with her husband went to Wisconsin where for a time they traveled for her health. Then they settled down on a farm in Grant Co., Wisconsin. About two years later they moved back to Fayette Co., where they farmed until a year ago last January. Since then they have lived in Illyria township where she died April 18, 1909, at the age of 30 years, 2 months and nine days.

From a child she was never strong. Three years after she was married her health became much worse. in all her illness a kind, loving husband ministered to her comfort. A week before she died she was taken suddenly worse. Since then there was a rapid decline until death released her from all suffering. Among her last words she said she was happy and requested that her husband should meet her in Heaven.

Besides her husband she leaves a father, two brothers and three sisters to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held at the Illyria Church Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Western, and interment was made in the cemetery there.
