Elgin Echo, Thursday, 21 November 1895.
On Saturday, November 9th, their died Mrs. Peters at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robbins, southeast of Elgin. The funeral was held Monday the 11th day of November and was attended not only by many friends but by four generation of descendants.
Mrs. Peters was born January 1, 1800, and was therefore ninety-five years, ten months and nine days old at the time of her death. She was the mother of seven children; 58 grandchildren; 130 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and while living was the representative of five generations and the root of 198 human beings. Her life and progenity opens up a great many lines of thought which many of our readers will do well to ponder over.
