Elgin Echo, Thursday, 18 September 1902.

Fred Lewenberg, aged forty years, died at Wadena Saturday morning. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. Deceased was a member of the Woodmen lodge at Wadena and was buried with Woodmen honors. The Highland lodge turned out to assist the Wadena lodge in conferring the last rites at the grave.

Rev. Hoak conducted the funeral services. Interment was made in the Wadena cemetery.
