Elgin Echo, Thursday, 10 April 1902.

On Thursday, April 3, 1902, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Gruber of Elgin, occurred the death of Elmer Gruber. Death was caused by his being severely scalded the day before.

Deceased was born Oct. 17, 1898, and died April 3, 1902. He was a bright little fellow and his sudden and untimely death was a very sad affair. Mr. and Mrs. Gruber have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.

Funeral services were held at the Dunkard church Sunday at noon conducted by Rev. Wenger and Schupbach and interment made in the Dunkard cemetery.
