Elgin Echo, Thursday, 09 January 1902.
At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adolph Baumgartner, south of Elgin, on Sunday, Jan. 5, occurred the death of Mrs. Rudolph Muller. Funeral services were held at the Elgin German Baptist church on Tuesday, Jan 7, conducted by Rev. Hack. Interment took place at the Elgin cemetery.
Anna Iseli (Isell ?) was born in Switzerland during 1831, in 1847 she emigrated with her parents to America and settled in Ohio. In 1855 she was united in marriage with Rudolph Muller and was the mother of ten children, seven of whom survive her. She came to Iowa during 1851 and here resided until her death. Her husband died in 1881 (or 1884) and her surviving children are Alexander, Louis, Rudolph, John and Frederick Muller, and Mrs. Yunker of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Mrs. Adolph Baumgartner of Elgin, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral except Mrs. Yunker.
Mrs. Muller was an exceptionally good mother and friend. She was kind to all and was loved by her acquaintances. Her life was a tribute to the better emotions in humanity and in her death all read a lesson of thorough, faithful living.
