Elgin Echo, Thursday, 9 January 1902. (Condensed).

DIED- Mrs. Wm. Sullivan, at the home in Elgin, Iowa, on Jan. 3rd, 1902, in the sixty-third year of her life. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 6, at Brainard, conducted by Rev. Rice of West Union, and interment took place at the Brainard cemetery.

Mary Louisa Vinton was born at Auburn, Ohio, Jan. 15, 1839. In early life she moved with her parents successively to Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. At Buchanan, Mich., on Feb. 13 (18 ?), 1861, she was united in marriage to Wm. Sullivan. During 1861 the couple moved to Iowa and lived in Delaware county until 1874, when they settled in Fayette county. Ten children were born to them, eight of whom with the husband survive to mourn her death. In 1858 she became a member of the M.E. church and her allegiance to that denomination was steadfast to the last.
