Fayette County Union, Thursday, 23 September 1880.

DIED- In West Union, Iowa, Monday morning Sept. 20th, 1880, Mr. E__ch (Looks like Enoch) Baldwin, aged 95 years.

The deceased was born in the state of New York March ??th (looks like 10th), 1785 and, while a young man he settled in New Jersey, from which place he removed to Ohio, thence to Illinois, and from Illinois to Iowa, settling at West Union in the spring of 1856, since which time he has been a resident of this place. He was the father of five children, three of whom survive him. The funeral services were conducted by H. S. Bronson of Fayette, at the M.E. church, Tuesday forenoon. During the services all the business houses were closed as a mark of respect for the deceased, who after living nearly a century, passed away.
